Pretty impressive start and chart shows this is something he can likely sustain: FB- averaged 94+ MPH and goes to it often, was really close even when he was missing with it, lots of vert action

I wanted part of this.  And what's funny is.  I was watching him pitch and the first 2 innings he looked like a deer in headlights.  I was like Why did I start him.  Then all the sudden he settled dow

Nice start today, chart was pretty nice too: FB- up a full tick from his last start, averaged 95 MPH and popped 97, great vert action to it, threw 61--42 strikes with 34 swings and 8 whiffs! Stri

Rotoworld's "Week Ahead" has him as a 2 start pitcher this upcoming week, but I haven't seen any confirmation that he's starting Tuesday. Anyone seen or heard anything official?

Yes Yahoo has him as official, green ball and all.

Anyone starting him today? Last 2 outings vs BAL & KC didn't go too well.

Sure, why not? [...]

Not sure what happened to the FA...but it is really missing some velo.

In June it was 95+ MPH on average...last night's limited stint it sat 93.4 MPH, it had nice vertical action at least...

FA- was still down in that 93 MPH average range but he made it work, great vertical movement sure helps, tossed 56--36 strikes with 29 cuts and 4 whiffs

CH- it was quite nice, good fade action, threw 23--19 strikes with 18 hacks and 8 whiffs! Sat 85 MPH

SL- also good sat 83 with good combo (dive/dart) movements, also tossed 23--11 strikes with 7 swings and 4 whiffs on it

CU- went away from it this start but I still like it's dev as a legit 4th offering, spun only 4--1 strike and 1 cut

@ KC last night...

7 ip 6 H 0 er 2 bb 6 k & the W

3.5 era 1.09 whip with a 40:20 k:bb across 54 innings.

He was really good last night, especially against a team that's seen him twice already. 104 pitches, 72 strikes and had it not been for a throwing error in the 5th (resulting in the UER) running up his pitch count, he could have had a legit chance at throwing all 9.

Also, catch of the year by a pitcher!

Funny thing, after last night's great start, he was dropped in every one of my leagues. I get it though, his next four starts are vs. HOU, vs. TEX, @ MIN, @ NYY (if the rotation stays the same). Indians schedule gets easier after that though so I could see holding even if he's a sit against the Stros and Yankees.

Is he anything more than a streamer until he he fine tunes things?

Yeah he is prob that very definition...there are some raw ingredients that suggest he can be a bit more than that in the future, but his inability to significantly miss bats lately (and being a bit off with his FA) really limits his appeal. TEX at home and then at MIN for a double dip next week is a dicey prop.

Anyone know if he's having his start skipped?  He's the probable starter for Saturday suddenly when he should be starting this Tuesday.  @KilloWertz

I can't confirm, but just going by Yahoo, it seems like they are skipping his start because of the rainout on Friday and then being off tomorrow.  Civale was supposed to start on Friday, but got skipped then himself, so their rotation seems to have gotten a bit messed up.
