Abraham Toro - 3B Astros

Recommended Posts

Abraham Toro, 3B Astros, is off to a fantastic start in AA.  The 22 year old, originally from Quebec, is leading the Texas League in most offensive categories.  He was tabbed by Marc Hulet at Fangraphs as a sleeper in the Astros system going into the season.  Toro has not disappointed.  He's hitting .330 with a .426OBP, .551SLG% and .997OPS.  More importantly, he has cut down his K's significantly which some believed was going to hold him back.  There have been questions about his defense and whether or not he may need to be tried out in LF or over at 1B, but for fantasy purposes the bat looks real good.  I don't think he'll be under the radar for too much longer if he keeps this up.

Think there is any chance he gets the call with Correa going down for a couple weeks? Probably too soon.

Well, the Astros are sometimes bold in their promotions but I think it would be pre-mature to do so.

Nice tout! Was reading about him the other day and he certainly seems like someone to keep an eye on...

has been in a major slump

Maybe he likes his teammates and sees there’s 97 5 star prospects in front of him before promotion so he’s going tanking his trade value?
