about the same as Tyler White winning the triple crown...

Yordan and Aristides yesterday

The only reason I can think of is the very large OF in Coors.  Otherwise it makes no sense, but that still sucks considering what he would likely do there.

Other then a pinch hit appearance in each game, see you on Friday, Yordan.  It was nice to have you for back for one day... 🙄

He looked a little gimpy to me running the bases today. I think they’re just giving that knee a little more time to get 100% for the 2nd half.

Yeah I'm betting they don't want Alvarez playing OF until after the all star base until his knee is 100%. Just bad timing.

He's a pretty bad defender anyway, but whatever gets people like White, Marisnick and Kemp out their lineup is worth it. He's a future DH. But boy can he rake.

2 games at Coors? I bet he gets 2 pinch hit AB’s. Will probably do more with those 2 AB’s then the guy you replace him in your lineup with does in 2 full games.

He only has 3 other games so in weekly it is tough to roll him out.

Maybe. But the way I look at it is would I rather have 14 AB’s from Yordan or 20 from his replacement. Pretty good chance that other guy gets a day off somewhere too or else he prob wouldn’t be on someones bench.

I read this morning that out of his 19 hits in the majors, 9 of them were over 108mph. That's good enough for 3rd on the team. Behind Correa (15) and Springer (14). But it makes me wonder where Bregman is?

Exit velocity is a good indicator. But its certainly not the be all and end all.  I think Jd martinez is middle of the pack for his career in that stat.

Don't worry if they pinch hit him he will hit a HR. ("satisfaction guaranteed or your money back")

Wasn't a bad prediction, but his butt was firmly planted on that bench for both games.  I guess he really wanted to give Yordan's knee another couple days of rest.

Pinch hitting isn't fielding... 😉

Ha! True.  But as I’m sure you know, it’s still physically taxing to step into the box and take swings against ML pitching.
