Devin Singletary 2019 Outlook

Recommended Posts

I'll go ahead and mention it since no one else has - "gamescript" (new popular catch-phrase du jour) went entirely the opposite of expected.

BUF was supposed to annihilate MIA today. So the argument goes - Singletary piles up garbage points in the 2nd half.

As it turns out - BUF was seriously challenged today for whatever reason = Gore - top dog all day.

Devin Singletary might be out of the league before Gore retires.

I know his athletic numbers look pedestrian.  But take a look at his scouting report.  from https://www.rotoworld.com/article/evaluations/nfl-draft-rb-rankings?page=1 He was Thor Nystroms # 3 RB

League size of course a factor, but I am likely holding in the hopes that...

Well, everyone knows what those hopes are.

Who else believes this rook will get his day THIS SEASON?

I'm holding(and probably spot starting due to injuries/byes) but my league is pretty deep. I don't think he'll get his day this season unless Gore misses games. He's got some standalone value but as we saw yesterday it can go sideways very quickly. But there will definitely be better days

Gore retiring seems like a stretch, he still looks good out there.

not really. I think he'll be content after finishing top 3 on the all-time rushing list (total rushing yards).

Even with Gore, I think Singletary is a great buy-low right now, especially in PPR.

Honest question but where do you get that from?  This last game really dampened his outlook for me and I was depending on him to be my RB2 ahead of Sony.

Welp that didn't go too well. I see lots of others also made the mistake of starting him over Lat Murray. I would have been very upset had i lost because of that. Note to self for future reference: Volume > Matchup

It was also hard to predict that Chicago would just completely s--- the bed. Sometimes volume doesn’t always override the matchup, but it did this time.

I was one of those guys that lost by running this guy over Lat Murray.

Until they remove Gore's corpse from that roster... I am gonna stay far away. Drop City!

Do think wait one more week- just a weird game today. And it was his first game back and caused yeldon to be inactive so there's standalone value here

This hype train got derailed so fast.... and add this for a kick to the gut... NOT EVEN A SINGLE TARGET in receiving game(last game)...... LOL. RB4 at best.

KEEP IN MIND THIS WAS VS DOLPHINS.....

0 targets vs miami, where buffalo scored 31 points....

Not sure what meat is left on the bone if the Bills aren't trailing...which they have a good defense that will keep them in games. The saving grace here is that Yeldon should continue to be active and it was his first game back. Bad news is he has the eagles, which I'm not that afraid of, but I don't know what his utilization pattern is.

I'm thinking of dropping him for a one week rental, but feel I'll regret it as the upside there is undeniable...

I am thinking about dropping him for a handcuff maybe. The issue I have is Gore isn't going away this season. And I think that really caps his upside. He would have to be ultra efficient and score prolifically at around 10-12 touches/week.

Singletary is a handcuff tho technically.
