Domantas Sabonis 2019-2020 Outlook

Recommended Posts

23 years old, 14 points and 9 boards per game last year in just under 25 minutes. More importantly, he has been confirmed as a starter by Nate McMillan this season.

In double double leagues, he could be as high as a top 20 type player.

Easier to do leading the 2nd unit off the bench. Plating along side Myles he's gonna take away a lot of those boards, but he's still a very solid sleeper target.

He’s back in the game

I don’t like empty double double guys on my teams, you need to couple him with an elite shot blocker. The randle and Randolph comparisons in fantasy are apt given they’re both good assist guys. I’d rather let someone else have him since I like my bigs to be more well rounded.

The Pacers have engaged in active trade talks with several teams this week about Domantas Sabonis, according to Sam Amick of The Athletic.

If he gets traded to a team which can make him starting C with 30+ mins, he will outplay his ADP brutally. Deff will target him on my draft on sunday.

But what if he doesn't get traded any time soon? Hoping that they will try showcase him and trade by the deadline, otherwise we might see him a lot more on the bench during the second half of the season, unless they fighting for playoff spot and they need him.

He’s a lot like Okafor offensively, a skilled low block scorer that is a little more brutish vs Ja’s finesse.

He does have good vision unlike Ja, but generally has the same problems: Decent post up defender, but not switchable or a rim protector; Also isn’t consistent from outside the paint and not particularly effective without the ball in his hands, but can crash for bunnies, set screens and roll.

At this point in his career and development, he should’ve taken the money. If he plays selfishly to try and “prove” it, then this will only diminish his value over the season.

TJ Warren should have a career year on the boards. Myles relies on his teammates to rebound, as he is the designated rim protector who is busy altering shots on D and spacing the floor on O.

The good thing with Sabonis is that he can produce, even with mins in middle 20s. With this new situation he will lose some value and he will be nice option in 7th, even in 8th rd. Aside of that, i think that Indy will rush for deal. If they wait untill the deadline, they will get some peanuts.
