isn't noel awful on def? sure he gets stocks but isn't that the reason he has been a back up center for his career.

His bball IQ is super low so ya he messes up all the time but his athleticism and gambling every play helps him get big stocks

This guy has all the tools of the high upside big man that can potentially swing a league. a) He is an absolute stocks monster with good %'s (including FT).  b) He has a history of producing

When we Mavs had him, he was just completely inept offensively.  I dunno about his bball IQ, but watching him tonight, it just looks like he gets overpowered quite a bit (by Whiteside and big Cs) and yeah, he gambles a bunch for O boards and stocks.  It's not awful for fantasy - his athleticism and motor are fun to watch.

I dunno man. He puts up nice stats in limited mins especially stocks but Adams is starting to come on and get into a groove so a lot of nights noel will only get 18 to 20 min. Adam's wasn't healthy before but seems to be nearly up to speed

My main reason for grabbing noel is how rare blocks and somewhat steals are on the wire, as well as having that guy also be good with fg% ft% to and okay for rbs. Usually a block specialist with get you only blocks. Someone like McGee I leave on the wire over noel. If your team is going to need blocks at some point in the season, now may be your only chance to get someone with stocks who doesn't hurt you anywhere else. Reddick could keep dropping 3+ 3s a game with points in high teens and nothing else but you can get a poor mans Reddick eith ease or better yet, stream to get a better version of Reddick using all 4 adds and back to backs. 7 games of streamed pts/3 > Reddick without making adds, but that depends on your league settings and if its h2h or roto. You can find dillon's Brooks types on the wire but a guy like noel doesn't come around often.

Really does depend on what your team needs, but Noel's upside is higher than anyone on most people's wires.

Noel, Poeltl, Theis, Zubac

pretty much in similar position

N remember Biyombo ?  Probably a better defender than Noel , good impact sub but never deliver when he’s given starting min

I like Poeltl (n his situation) the most out of the 5 mentioned bigs

What's the damage on this one? Any possibility of him getting moved? Noel's upside is undeniable, but it's hard to hold if an Adams move is a non-starter.

He's owed 50 million this season + next.  That's a lot.  Sure there's a possibility but depending on how much of an optimist you are I think the chances are low he's moved this season.

Is this guy a poor man's Mitch Rob or what? but not really any poorer.

Mitch Rob can't be playing any poorer than he is. On the other hand, Noel is doing pretty well considering his limited opportunity.

I find the comparison interesting though because at full potential, they are very comparable as stock machines.

Noel would be more like 2x2 whereas Mitch could be 1x3.5. In general, Noel produces more consistently.

best i think he did was 1.5x1.5 in one of his earlier years.

I'm not sure why the celtics don't consider Adam's.

Eh, I think there's been trade rumors surrounding the Celts and Adams.  However, they'd most definitely have to move one/two of Theis, Kanter, and Time Lord.  And for fantasy purposes, it'd be incredibly annoying to have a timeshare between Noel and someone like Time Lord, and if there's yet another C added to the Thunder, it might even get worse.

As a OKC fan I think it's gonna be pretty difficult to move Adams. Not only do you have that contract but you also have to consider the poor play. I love Adams and he has been playing a bit better lately but he's been a shell of himself ever since he got injured last season. Don't know if it's still bothering him or not. He hasn't been playing like a guy a contender would be interested in for a while now though.
