Lamar Jackson 2020 Outlook

the oline was terrible tonight

OL can't protect a guy that doesn't stay in the pocket. He's all over the place back there and he holds ball for way longer than 2.5 seconds.

If they turned around to see where he was they'd lose sight of their man or get bulled over themselves. No matter how good your OL is you can't protect guys that do what he does.

They only seemed terrible because he was forced to pass which he almost never is.

RG3?

I love julio, but unfortunately this isn't street fighter where he can go "yoga arms" and catch one of lamars errand passes.

Wanted to own him this year and paid for him.

He looked defeated tonight.  When they were down two scores in the 4th, there was no semblance of urgency or hurry-up.  They were still huddling, Jackson was taking his sweet time delivering the play, making pre-snap signals, etc.  You're down two scores with 5 minutes left.  Hurry the F up.  Get up to the line, call a play, and street ball it.  Sheesh.

When they went hurry up to the line he got sacked back to back plays because he couldn't identify the blitz or the hot reads.

He needs to get set and let everything show itself.

I bet he puts up 50 points on redskins next week to send message still, but he was definitely exposed. He'll still be effective as long as his defense can contain competition, but if they let the game go by 2 scores he's finished.

Antonio Brown can fix what is ailing Lamar Jackson.

He has nothing but scrub and unproven WRs to throw to.

He had Brown for three TDs if he was more accurate. He needs a big bodied contested catch WR to prolong drives when it's 3rd and long. Brown is Tyreek Hill part two on the Chiefs. Would love to see Hollywood with an accurate QB.

Exactly. In order to understand this, you have be able to understand fundamental football, not back yard street football, which only works so long before you are figured out.

Name the proven WR on baltimore

😂

Proven or unproven, Hollywood would've had another 120yds and 2tds if lamar could throw.  Every other qb in the league (and a bunch of backups) couldve easily made the throw in the 4th.  It was legitimately one of the worst throws I've ever seen.

It doesnt matter how “proven” a wr is if the qb cant throw them an accurate ball.

He's gonna be a collosal bust. And much of that is through no fault of his own, but the fact remains. He has no weapons, he's not a great passer, guys like Wilson, Kyler, Dak, Allen are absolutely lighting it up, and we're probably looking at a finish in the 4-6 range for QBs.

Honestly we should've seen this coming. Seasons like the one he had last year are VERY rarely replicated.

So QBs don't need proven WRs?

I don't care if hollywood could have had 8 catches for 350 yards and 5 TDs with better throws from Lamar.

He isn't the kind of WR that scares D Coordinators, A Brown is.

He had even less proven WRs last year. Explain that. You can't.

It has absolutely ZERO to do with the WRs since they are the same ones as last year with one year more experience. That excuse is as lame as they come simply because the WRs are the same + 1 yr experience.

They got smoked in the playoffs.

As I said before, the ravens will coast to the playoffs with their scrub WRs same as last year but when they face the tougher teams they have no Alpha receiver to scare the defenses and take pressure off of Lamar.

This is Lamar Jackson's problem.   Jarvis Landry scored 3x what Lamar did. IS that what you meant by having a WR take some pressure off Lamar?

Wow that was a legitimately awful performance. IIRC Thielen did that challenge the other year and got like 9 points, and he's a wide receiver...

What the hell does “proven” mean. Getting open can be considered “proven”  how can you even become “proven” if your qb cant ever hit you when you are open?

Defenses are definitely concerned about Hollywood.

What does "proven" mean?

Not sure if serious.

Maybe a guy that's been to a pro bowl?

 yeah, those receivers grown on trees. Maybe get a QB that can make the receiver better. Fact is this guy completely stinks at throwing an NFL football. Jerry Rice would demand that this guy be benched in favor of the backup.
