Allen is almost one of the safest starts due to the running. Even in bad weather he has a safe floor becuase he will get more ground touches and will still be goal line back for the most part
BrianM 1,238
I assume this is fair to discuss on the Allen thread. The Dawson Knox fumble from last night's game..........I really felt like Knox never had the ball, and that should've been ruled an interception since it didn't hit the ground. A stat correction here would actually swing a matchup in a league I run (though not my matchup) so this might be an interesting week.

Knox had possession and took multiple steps. It was clearly a fumble.

I am wondering if Allen could get an interception tacked on to his numbers. Is there much chance the NFL will change it, or can it change it since the call was a fumble? From time time sacks and stuff get changed. Does the NFL ever change things like this?
Br0kenB 1,943
He never had that ball and that is 100% an interception, but I don't expect it to be changed retroactively. I don't remember a player ever being assigned a turnover in retrospect.
BrianM 1,238
They definitely can and have made this change in the past. I don't know what the likelihood is, but it is within the rules.

BrianM 1,238
Watching that vid again (thanks for embedding)..........I feel like it is one of those "call on the field stands" type of things. I also can picture a world in which they give Josh Allen the star power call and don't add a bad stat for him

A different referee might have called it differently on the day, but I think there's not enough clear evidence to overturn it, so my guess (like you) is that it will stand. pastorofmuppets2 10,612
clear cut interception. not Josh's fault, but ... that's a pick 🤷♂️

I believe that could have gone either way! Play stands as called! No reason to deliberate. It’s over and I am sure whoever reviewed it realized either way it was a turnover and left it as called. I would have🤷🏻♂️
KennyWoo 3,319
I thought live Knox had possession and it was a fumble but it is close. Here's a question though: did any ref throw a beanbag? If a ref threw a beanbag, then the ref ruled it a fumble and I don't see the stat correctors being able to override that.

To me he has it with two feet down and begins to run, so I would say it is a fumble. But it won’t affect me so if it changes, so be it. I don’t think Allen deserves an int for that. peleincubus 110
Mr. Allen plays the Broncos next. The Broncos have lost 3 cornerbacks to ACL injuries in a week. That makes things very interesting in my opinion.

BrianM 1,238
I'm skeptical because its a short week plus a cross country trip. Feeling a relatively low scoring affair compared to most Bills games.
