Taysom Hill 2020 Outlook

Message added by tonycpsu

[ As mentioned previously, Hill's TE eligibility is a league/platform-specific issue that needs to be discussed in either the Commissioner's Corner or Platform Central thread.  Believe it or not, there are people who just want to discuss his fantasy outlook without arguing about which positional eligibility is correct.  Please help us out here and take those discussions elsewhere. ]

taysom hill owners once their fellow league managers see him slotted into the TE position

I really like his matchup this weekend, Atlanta is last in the league against TE's, so I'm expecting a pretty big game.

We'll see. This game will tell a LOT about Hill and Week 15. He needs to throw in this Eagles game and prepare for KC, because you don't beat Maholmes without throwing 40 passes of your own.

yo, take it up with Schefty - i'm just posting info pertinent to the Taysom thread.

Carr did it with 31

right?

and let's not forget his supporting cast here ... top 5 rb talent in AK47, best understudy rb in Slats ... elite wr in Thomas who he is gelling with ... good peripheral pieces on the perimeter.

and it's not like the 2020 Chiefs D is the '85 Bears (or even the 2020 Bears) - they can be abused aplenty  🤷‍♂️

I could, especially when he tries to do more than he is capable of doing. Enjoy the turnovers.

You guys keep thinking he's going to drop back in the pocket 40 times like you haven't even watched him play before. Running QBs always have fantasy value, always.

Like a lot of us has said repeatedly, Taysom doesn't need to play well in real life to have a pretty good fantasy game.  Next week I can easily see him getting 150-200 passing yards, 40-50 rushing yards, two total TDs, and 2 INTs.  That'll likely get you low end QB1 results.

If the Chiefs start piling on points, all the running in the world isn't going to help. If you don't think a running QB can't put up duds, well, you are in for some disappointment. This is Taysom Hill. Not Lamar, not RG3, not Cam, not Vick, and not even Tim Tebow.

Maybe Hill is the real deal or not but this Tim Tebow comparison thing is cruel and idiotic. Tebow had a career 47.9% passing percentage and Hill is sitting at 73% after 3 starts. Tebow had the longest and lowest recorded throwing motion in NFL history and Hill has a very short motion and up top. The only thing you can compare legitimately between the two is their running abilities and I actually like Hill better. Shrug

Cruel and idiotic? Tone it down a notch. Payton wouldn't even be that offended.

And I'd take Tebow over Hill any day on rushing. No shrugs necessary.

Tebow ran a 4.71 40, and Hill ran a 4.4 (and is probably even faster now). He’d say bye bye to him.

I assume with the Saints starting Taysom when competing for a top seed in the playoffs, that the team feels he is the better QB now.

So right now, one should assume Hill has the edge in?

Saints head coach Sean Payton said Jameis Winston would get a chance to be the team's starting quarterback after Drew Brees retires.

It's widely expected this will be Brees' final season, which could end with him sidelined with broken ribs. Payton said Winston, along with Taysom Hill, is "going to have that opportunity (to start in New Orleans) the minute Drew leaves."

the optimist wants to say that Hill had a bad outing but still managed a good fantasy day.  the pessimist wants to say we dodged a bullet against PHI and may not get as lucky against a better team like KC and we should take the PHI game as a loud warning to look elsewhere cuz ceiling won't be there.

i don't know if NO was overlooking PHI last week but they didn't play well.  question now is, do we get a knuckle dragging game because both defenses are good, or do we get shootout.  seems to me Hill is going to have to keep up with KC if he has a chance to put up points. against a good team like KC i'm not sure the chance to get cheap points during a comeback will be there.  or the chance at a late game turnover to get a cheap TD will be there either.   either he is going to earn it throughout the game or we are going to have to settle for a high floor type play this week
