Marquise Brown 2020 Outlook

The new Mr. Big Chest.  I'm buying everywhere probably earlier than most would.  Love everything about him this year a lot of which is already mentioned in this thread and I think he will get more targets and opportunity than people think.  Ravens will likely be throwing more, Seth Roberts is gone, and it has come out that prior to drafting Brown the front office consulted with Lamar Jackson about which college receiver he'd most like to play with (he went with Brown or Jerry Jeudy) they're clearly very close on and off the field.

Plus if people think the Titans "figured out" Lamar Jackson in the playoffs...well Brown had 100+ yards in that game, got targeted a ton, and made some great catches.  If that's the defense the Ravens will face this year and teams will try and force Lamar to throw more, I have no problems tacking 500+ yards onto what Brown did last year.

He is pissed and Lamar acknowledged it today - huge game incoming.     3 receptions for 32 yards - book it!

Only because Cleveland couldn’t keep up. If the game was kept close at all Brown would have had 200. Must start WR1 versus Houston.

  1. Not sure what I'm missing here but this guy is apparently sliced bread to my leaguemates.    I like the player but think he's very much capped in that offense and a WR4/best ball guy at best.

League 1- I get DJ Moore off of a guy because he wanted to keep Hollywood instead, though here its at a lower cost at least.

League 2- A guy trades a decent draft pick to acquire then keep Hollywood........instead of just keeping Mark Andrews at the same cost, without the draft pick trade.

I wouldnt hype him up to the point of doing dumb trades like that but I think he has legit top 15 upside that you can get as a WR3.

Diddo. He is much more than a “WR4 at best”. He could easily be a stud. He apparently has been destroying all the corners at training camp who just happen to be a couple all pro level corners. He was lamar Jackson’s favorite WR in last years and this years draft that’s why they took him in the 1st round last year even tho he was hurt.
He will get plenty of opportunities to succeed and at his draft price I’ll chance it but not to the point I’m making bad trades to acquire him.

He was a WR4 last season playing about 50% of the team's total snaps for the year. It's absurd to think he is capped as a WR4.

Much like has been said, he's a nice value where he's ranked right now, but no point doing ridiculous trades or anything to acquire him.  I think he has a great chance to put up big numbers this year, but if someone is offering me a guy who's already put up big numbers and has no reason not to do it again, I'll take the proven guy.

He hardly played as WR so it's cheating a bit, but this guy was listed at 150 Lbs (btw Brown is listed at 165 here); had 2 1000 yd returning seasons though.

This man has tore up the CFL recently as a WR, then in close games and in the playoffs they would let him return punts/kicks.

I am usually coinflipping between either him and Will Fuller around the WR25-30 mark. I took Fuller in one league but I'll want Hollywood in the other, he might only catch 3 balls in a game but that'll be enough to smash.

Bump.

Guy added 15 pounds to his frame, and is coming into the year healthy.

I think he's a bit less boom/bust this year than last.  Lamar apparently loves him and expects big things.

Anyone hearing more news out of camp?

yea apparently he’s been dominating the corners every day. Marcus peters and Humphreys only made all pro teams last year so I’d say he’s doing good.

If he stays healthy he’ll be a top 12 guy this year, with top 5 potential. Hollywood can be special

Easy Breesy , I love the kid too but that’s just out the realm of possibilities.

Top15 maybe just maybe ... if he plays a full slate of games & balls out.

I think the biggest issue here is the volume of passes, he may or may not get.

The talent & speed are undeniable.

He has almost 600 yards and 7 TD’s last year with a screw in his foot, playing only 50% snaps in 14 games.

Baltimore should have to pass more this year and with his health back to 100%, along with his snap % that should go up to 80% or more. I don’t think I’m speaking anything crazy. I don’t actually think he’ll hit that top 5, but I do expect a WR1.

His cousin Antonio Brown (who he’s been training with) went from 66 rec 787 yards to 110 rec 1499 yards his breakout year.

147 yards and 2 TD's came Week 1 vs the Dolphins, where he exploded onto everyone's radar. And I know about the screw removal in his foot + the added mass.

If you go to page 1 of this thread I was the first to break the news on that. He should be poised for a great year, I'm just saying temper expectations, top5/top10 even is just not happening.

He may be AB's cousin , but that doesn't make him AB. This is more of an indictment on the team he's on, more so than any knock on his talent or pedigree.

Top 5 or 10 is possible... though very unlikely. But it is possible for him to approach Tyreek Hill production.

I think he's a good bet as a high upside wr2.

Top 18 is very doable

Draft him! Or trade for him. He's not just a burner even though he's smaller. He'll have intermediate targets as well. He has real route running and ball catching talent. The ADP is absurd. Don't overthink it!

The real thing that is absurd is the thought that Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore offense can't somehow support Brown enough for a breakout year, which is something I've heard far too often and I find completely ridiculous.  I'm all in on a Hollywood breakout.

I’d rather have Chark or Lockett at his ADP range
