Jubanton 345
off of a long injury layoff... prudent pickup but probably waaay premature.

I'd say he was trending towards being good. Now with the new Pass Happy offense, Penny is for sure a more explosive receiver out of the backfield. Last year, this backfield was trending towards Carson being between the tackles grinder and Penny getting higher value touches. Rojo/Fournette 2.0 Get serious, man. Penny is coming off a messy knee injury. He's not going to be that explosive any time soon. Carson has also proven to be a decent receiver in his own right, making Penny a bit redundant.

Rojo/Fournette 2.0 You mean TWO good games in a row. 2 carries for 2yds and a fumble lost the game before that and 1 catch for 16yds the game after that.

Also nothing in here that says he's actually participated in team practice yet. Just that he's progressing in rehab. When this guy starts to actually practice with the team then maybe there's something. But they just signed Bo Scarborough to their practice squad today, that tells me that he's not close to getting into a real game soon. Not even factoring in that Carson when healthy has been very productive and hyper efficient at 4.0 YPC. Even if Penny comes back, he takes homer's role at best, which is worthless for fantasy purposes IMO. Edited November 12, 2020 by TheINC

RoseLin23 436
The thing that blows is Seattle plays in the late afternoon games, so if it's another GTD, I won't be able to risk him not going. Honestly, I don't think he's gonna play. Seattle has a short turnaround next week for TNF. I think, if anything, we might see Carson back for that one.

I'm not sure we have a viable (fantasy) option here if Carson's out.

owenmills 5,326
I think the play is Dallas. I don't even own Carson and I'm considering plugging Dallas in if Carson sits, after looking at the last 2 games closer. 2 games ago Dallas dominated the backfield, and even got 5 targets. Last week his snap count dropped considerably but touches were mostly split. Maybe it was because Homer was healthier, but I think it was just a weird game. Homer caught 3 passes for 64 yards, but they all came on Seattle's final drive(on 3 straight plays) down by 10 where Buffalo was playing prevent. So for all intents and purposes Homer wasn't involved in the passing game at all that game. I was looking at Hyde as a one week rental but he's not happening and after looking closer at the situation I'm possibly pivoting to Dallas...

Rojo/Fournette 2.0 Penny is returning from a serious knee injury and there is little chance he walks right into a role that impacts Carson's value in a significant way. The dude hasn't even PRACTICED since his injury. Carson was still putting up RB1 numbers even when Penny was healthy and came on last season. Penny is a threat to Hyde/Dallas/Homer touches and nothing more. When Carson is healthy enough to be on the field he's an elite RB2 at worst. Plus Penny is sort of notorious for not taking care of himself all that great. I can't really see a scenario where he gets back to game-shape and takes meaningful carries/snaps away from Carson. He would certainly be used, just how much is pretty difficult to really say until we see Penny. He was the better pass catcher, but Carson has made serious strides in that aspect though too. There wasn't a lot of work for the RBs in general, but Dallas got the RZ work. He's your guy. Homer is just passing down filler.
Ergogh 41
Are people buying/selling this guy? Does this seem like something that would linger? Thinking of trading FOR him for his schedule to stack with Russ but worried it might be a more serious injury than let on

Thinking of trading FOR him for his schedule to stack with Russ but worried it might be a more serious injury than let on I bought him because I needed a 3rd good RB as we get closer to playoffs. If they rush him back too early, this is an injury that can linger or get re-aggravated. I don't think he should miss more than 2 more weeks. Midfoot sprains are always tricky and can take up to 1 month to fully heal. So at most he misses 2 more weeks. I'm OK with waiting on that. If you need an RB to win now though, try to sell him for someone healthy. Seahawks definitely need him back though. Dallas has done his best filling in, but has shown nothing special and is getting mediocre yardage against light fronts (he's a rookie). Teams aren't respecting the Seahawk's running game right now and just dropping guys into the secondary. Edited November 13, 2020 by harck
