Doubt the Astros would trade the most important person in their organization.

The Mets

None of those have career numbers that inspire confidence, but Pena has been dominant through three appearances this year...no runs, WHIP under 1.00, 8K in 5.2.

Nick Anderson in the 7th, Castillo in the 8th in a tie game

Anderson got the 8th and Castillo got the 9th unless I’m making up things

Yeah, he seems like their best option so far but maddon will probably end up trying the other 3 first

This is correct. And Drake pitched the 10th. All three pitched clean innings.

Wick gets it done. Allowed the inherited runner to score on a ground out, put a guy on with a walk (heater a hair low on 3-2) and then another ground out to end the game. Hopefully the Cubs give him the next shot. I certainly would if winning baseball games is your thing.

🤔

perhaps they’re a bit worried that Chapman won’t last the whole season and want to preserve their other best arm?

I think they it was just as stated and they are simply not wasting bullets, esp with potential double headers in the future.  Boston looked pretty flat tonight and Hale did a decent job the inning before, so why not have him finish it off with a 3 run lead?

 On what?

His pitching arm...not good obviously.

Astros' closer Roberto Osuna is heading for an MRI after leaving Saturday's game with discomfort in his right arm.

Osuna was pulled from a save chance on Saturday after looking very uncomfortable which prompted a visit from the team trainer. He's heading back to Houston to undergo the exam, so it's likely that he'll be placed on the injured list so the Astros can add a fresh arm to the bullpen mix. While Ryan Pressly has been dealing with his own health issues, he's still the most likely candidate to replace Osuna in the ninth inning if he's going to be sidelined for a significant length of time.

The current bullpen breakdown as best I can tell:

Established closers:

Strong:  7:  WSox, Dodgers, Brewers, Yankees, A's, Phillies, Padres

Medium:  4:  Dbacks, Red Sox, Tigers, Twins (assuming Rogers)

Weak:  5:  Braves, Reds, Marlins, Cards (Kim), Blue Jays (Bass)

Committees:  10:  Cubs(?),  Rockies(?),  Mets(?), Orioles, Royals, Pirates, Mariners, Giants, Rays, Angels

Debatable:  4:  Indians (Karinchak(?)), Rangers (Goody(?)), Nats (Hudson(?)), Astros (Pressley(?))
