aapox 896
Yeah. That was just a great swing by Tucker. Kela looked okay. Trouble putting guys away but not bad overall. Ervin put an amazing at bat together against him but then weak contact from Castellanos and Votto and Suarez after a decent AB to get to 3-2 absolutely got cooked by a 58 foot breaking ball. If his curve isn't working (he was hanging it a bit tonight, but it was still moving a lot) he's not going to get many K's because his fastball is good (94-96) but not overpowering. He's definitely a guy where you buy more into the situation than his stuff, though I'd say he'll be a 1K/1IP type guy. So far so good.

Kramjam24 223
Are the cubs gonna use kimbrel like the mets using Diaz and give him 8 inning low stress work to build him back into the closer? Or are the cubs just done with kimbrel

He had a longer run than most closers but it is the end of the trail and then some. Edited August 14, 2020 by The Big Bat Theory

Rotofan24 83
Anthony Bass makes an appearance in the 8th with Toronto up 8-4. This is three days following the blown save at Miami.

Maybe he still gets save opportunities but Romano is the dude with enormous upside.
k.k. 345
I guess we'll see if there's an update from the team on the bullpen hierarchy. Just speculation at this point. Edited August 15, 2020 by k.k.

I think you and I have very different definitions of "enormous" upside. Exhibit A: Jordan Romano's underwhelming minor league numbers. Have you seen him pitch this year? I’m guessing no. Here’s some reading material for you and maybe you could do a little more research than googling his minor league stats. So, yes, with the elite fastball/slider combo he’s showing this year I’d say for a guy just sitting there on waiver wires he has enormous upside.
