The Duke Johnson thread is the exact same, every single year, no matter what. "Not just a handcuff!" "He's not just a CoP!" "He's the best back on the team." "That guy they signed

Drop him before the game and save yourself the headache.

I also read somewhere other than here that Duke may be dealing with a chest or rib injury so that also factors into whether to start him.  It's a tough call.

Every single player is dealing with some kind of ailment in week 12. Chest and rib injuries are almost always of the pain management variety, and since it hasn’t keep him out of practice or even been mentioned anywhere besides one reporter on one podcast, I’m not wringing my hands too much over it.

The more I think about it the more I see Duke having a 70+ combined yardage with 4 catches and a TD kind of day.

I kinda think he’s a drop. Houston’s backfield just doesn’t produce top-end production and the efficiency and effectiveness of the entire offense takes a hit without Fuller. Maybe that means more volume for the backs but even if that’s the case we’re likely just back where we started. David is supposedly back and healthy. I think even if he went down again in the next few weeks Duke becomes what he just was...sort of a low ceiling, back-end RB2 type based on volume alone, but one who may have ceded GL touches to Prosise so his floor isn’t even that stable. I don’t think he’s someone you’ll be kicking yourself for not stashing, even if he winds up getting more starts in 14-16. Thoughts?

I definitely wouldn't drop him. I think you have to wait and see how he's used with DJ coming back. Chance he retains some stand along flex value moving forward.

Besides, DJ has proven he's not the most durable player over the last few years.

Meh. It's not like he lit the world on fire in DJ's absence. Tough match-up too.

Flex-worthy perhaps for those with lesser options just based on volume. Maybe back-end RB2 upside if he can get into the end zone (only 2 TD's on the season).

What's Prosise's status?

He’s not made for running the ball paired with Watson who doesn’t like to target the RB. Against a tough Chicago matchup on the road.

I can’t see any positives in starting him other than hoping he falls in the end zone.

I added him, so if people feel I’m wrong in this view please feel free to tell my why.

They finally learned something after the routes he was running on Turkey Day and committed to passing to him more last week?

Cooks is banged up, Keke is also nicked...Bears LBs can be had thru the air. He could be interesting this week.

But yeah, it's a caution-meet-wind type move.

Hmm ok that’s a different perspective for sure. Watson has been on fire too.

If the weather looks good maybe he is a nice flex play, thanks for the info.

It is encouraging he got 6 catches last week even with David playing. This offense will still find a way to move the ball and they've lose a lot of their other weapons...I might roll the dice with him this week and see if he can give me low end RB2 production.
