Spyplane 1,583
Added him as a flier. Don't you love it when everyone says that Player B has played well but will never leapfrog Player A into a significant role but then actually does leapfrog Player A into a significant role? Yeah, me too. Go Player B and go Sports Team! 1
harck 478
He actually looked real good last Thursday outside of 1 bad drop. Made quite a few key plays that turned what looked like 1-2 yd gains into clutch first downs or 6-10 yards. Still think Gurley is firmly in the driver's seat barring injury, but Hill might start to eat up a few more snaps. Atlanta's strategy of keeping Gurley fresh for the 3rd and 4th paid off IMO even if it was only due to the short week. Edited October 31, 2020 by harck

I actually thought he looked like the quicker and shiftier back on Thursday. Could see his touches climbing as Gurley wears out. Barring injury it’s not likely he takes over as top dog but he’s worth picking up if you have the bench space
cerealntacos 9
Is he still in line to take on the majority of touches of Gurley misses Sunday?

Texansfan 181
Wonder if ATL might want to see what they have in Hill ROS in a lost season. Doubt Gurley will be back next year...
TeflonDonNewcombe 75
Seems like a good play this week if Gurley can't go. Not "league winner" status considering ATL's ROS schedule isn't the most favorable for backs (NO, @LAC, TB, @KC). I think I remember him breaking off a TD run earlier this year where he looked kind of slow but ran through a truck-sized hole and scampered to the end zone. Nothing really jumps out at you but he'd make a great volume play against a bad run D.

mulhollandvelvet 997
I wonder where to rank him this week? High end RB3 sounds about right but the landscape at RB is so bad. Gurley hasn't been very good and I could see Ito Smith mixing in some.

I’d put him as a low end RB2 against a lacklustre raiders run D. Definitely startable this week
CooL 3,248
Matthew Berry and Field Yates think this will be a RBBC. The idiot short man Michael Fabiano of course screams on his Twitter to "go get Hill NOW!", which is of course the obvious knee jerk thing to say and that's all he's good for. I'm thinking Ito Smith gets involved. Didn't Hill pretty much bomb the last time he got his shot?
Popular Post KennyWoo 3,319
Now that I've posted a fun GIF, let's do something more serious. I saw above (and/or in Gurley thread) the speculation that this might turn into a brutal RBBC with Gurley out. Anything is possible, but let's look at the evidence. Last season, Atlanta had a washed former star RB as its RB1. (Sound familiar?) That man was Devonta Freeman. He missed two games last season: Weeks 11 and 12. The snap shares in those games: Brian Hill 60% and 59%. No other tailback (they have a fullback on this roster too) exceeded 26% in either game. That man was Ollison (26% and 18% in two games). Ito Smith was hurt. Ito Smith is a competent satellite back, although he sort of has the Moves Like JAGger. There hasn't been a single game this season Ito has played more than Hill. Smith's closest comp is Shane Vereen. Ito has never had more than six carries in a game. Hill has had eight or more carries four times already this season as a #2! Despite Ito's "satellite" skills, Hill has doubled him up on targets this season, 20-10. Hill has been thought to be an "on the way up player." He was behind Ito on the depth chart early last season. This season, he's been ahead of him. Qadree Ollison is rarely active. He's played 22 snaps this season. I'd expect him to get no more than 10% snap share. Putting this all together, I'd come up with the following: 1. Hill should get no worse than 60% snap share. 2. Ito will be used sparingly as a change of pace guy and may have 3rd down to himself, although given Hill's 20 targets this season, I wouldn't guarantee that. 3. Hill should get goal line carries. Gurley has six short rushing TDs this season! 4. Qadree Ollison's first name presumably derives from the Latin quattuor, the root of the prefix quad-, as in quadrilateral (four-sided). He is presumably named after the number four because he belongs as a fourth-stringer at best in a backfield. Maybe he gets like 10% of snaps. Conclusion: Hill should at minimum get first and second down work plus goal line. He has upside to be a 75%/80% type alpha in this game. His floor is around 60% snap share. He'll get almost all the carries. And he's not a zero as a pass-catcher either. He could easily carry the ball 15 times and catch three passes. Smith's upside is to siphon off maybe five carries and some passing game work. Ollison's upside is to make two tackles on kickoffs. This game has the second highest total of the week. Atlanta tends to score a lot and particularly likes to run the ball in close. The Raiders are 30th against RBs this season and just gave up 3 rushing TDs to the endzone-allergic CEH/Bell combo. Kalen Ballage (!!!) gashed them in Week 9. It is, indeed, Hill SZN. 18

But he has top 10 upside and by all means get this guy in your DFS tournament lineups!

Whitemist 32
No brainer back end RB 2/Flex start this week. Money match up, and I would expect the Falcons to be a lot more competitive this week after getting embarrassed last week.
