Yup same. I typically avoid wings in the first 2 rounds. PG and C in rounds 1 and 2 has pretty much been my go-to strategy for as long as I've played fantasy lol. I feel like you can get that combo of

Part-time P

doesn’t seem to be too concerned. Two weeks at the most

Back end of the 2nd round is fine. But I like drafting one C and one PG in the first two round so... I might not take him at all

I have a similar strategy. I think he has a monster year personally he was not that good in bubble so he has a lot to prove

It all depends on whether or not you think PG13 is a significantly better wing than the Warrens, Harris', and Oubre's that you would likely pick in lieu of him in the mid-rounds.

Personally with him healthy, his usage, and the potential for more Kawhi rest, I think he is.  Early second round may not be the best to creating a consistent team, especially if you picked a wing as your top pick, but if he drops to the last few picks of the round, he's too good to leave on the board for me.

  • 2 weeks later...

Just signed a massive contract extension with the Clippers. We know this man can turn it up in the regular season, but he's been plagued by inconsistency. This may end up being a huge mistake if the Clips don't win a title/Kawhi leaves after next year. Iffy playoff performances aside, I'm expecting a great season from PG if his 2nd season with OKC is any indicator. POTENTIAL top 5 value, should see less load management since he's looking healthy (he's coming off those 2 shoulder surgeries which cost him many games last year and an early trip home) and a lot to prove. In mocks, I'm regularly drafting him at around the early 20's mark in 14T (any later is def a steal). Out of the Kawhi/PG duo I think he's the one to own due to Kawhi's degenerative knee issue (more games missed by Kawhi means more of the scoring load on PG). And if you are punting FG%, there's a lot of good value here.

Had no plans on taking him as picking first, figured he'd be well gone by my second. But he just kept not getting picked, over and over and over ....

Not without its risks but a Harden and PG duo was too good to ignore

(Naturally I've named my team after a local strip club ...)

I know talk is just talk, but in his All The Smoke interview earlier he seemed pretty motivated to prove something this season. He's also been pretty vocal in requesting a bigger role in the offense during the off-season.

You think there's any chance with a new coach, an even more load-managed Kawhi (with the shortened season), and this added motivation that he gives us late-first/early second-round value this season?

I mean he’s being taken early second round anyway so you’d hope he produces that value...

Fair enough. I've seen him going mid/late 2nd to mid 3rd in most mocks. His Yahoo ADP is 21 and his ESPN ADP is 27 right now.

Am I the only one actively avoiding him thinking he's officially become injury prone? A really long recovery from his double shoulder surgery last year still feels like it's going to be lingering and will come back to bite everyone in the butt...

Might grab him if he falls to late second round. This whole Pandemic P thing has ruined his reputation a bit as I have seen him fall in most mock drafts. Like a poster mentioned above he ranked 20 last year on less than 30 min a game, which is pretty incredible. I expect a bump in those numbers as he'll have something to prove this season.
