this is the turner i was afraid of when i said his value takes a major hit once his blocks regress to the mean

kinda mad i didn’t sell high now.. coulda had him included as a centerpiece in a trade for adebayo and didn’t do it

let’s hope he gets back to what he’s capable of

Yup,his main value and high ranking is all about his elite block.....without block, his other stats is pretty mediocre

Hey! No matter what....Donut. Give. Up!

He is still a very useful player to own, I think. There are almost no shot blockers, and ones who don't hurt you in FT%? Plus get 3's? And he is not just a shot blocker, he is one of the best.

Don't go wishing for a players injuries. Especially not when the guy you're betting on misses even more games each year.

pacers blowout

Three other starters played 36-38 minutes, Mcdermott and Mcconnell played 30/32, and Lamb played 28.

7th in minutes at 24 is no bueno.

The main thing is the minutes.

The last few years the leading average shot blockers are above 2.6 blocks a game so it's not Impossible for Turner to average above that a whole season. Turner was a leading shot blocker one of these years.

However with less minutes, it's just improbable to impossible to replicate that. And IND has no problem just running Sabonis as the sole big if they win.

Pretty much doesn't do anything else other than give blocks. Not a good FG for a C

Your comment seems to cast him as little more than a block specialist, but he’s a more well-rounded player than he gets credit for.

Fun fact; Myles still ranks #73 on the season if punting blocks, in 30 mpg.

Common man he's been rebounding and scoring. Blocks were always going to come down. My issue is the Pacers obsession with playing Sabonis so much and forgetting Turner exists second half. Bjorkren doing same sh** McMillan was

This is the real issue tbh.

When he plays 24-25 minutes (has averaged 25 the last five games) and the other guys ball hog, he is going to produce some really frustrating lines.

I think the question is, are they babying him a little because of his injuries or are they choosing not to run that two-big tandem because they don’t feel it works? Because if the minutes aren’t there, I think his value is going to take a serious hit (or continue to take one). His touches are only going to get worse if/when Warren comes back, so you need the minutes for the defensive stats.

Agreed. It's a bit like the Boucher situation except Turner is the best defender on the Pacers. Let's hope they are just limiting minutes because he's banged up. Personally not worried about Warren he isn't close to returning and will be heavily limited

The big concern with him as vs Boucher is that 2 coaches now are seemingly coming to the conclusion that they should play Turner less minutes.

Not true. Turner was playing 30 plus minutes until he got banged up recently. He's easily their best defender and can hit threes. Will be fine going forward
