Kevin Porter Jr. 2020-2021 Outlook

I like Porter better but I am keeping a close eye on Stewart as well of course. I worry thag Casey will roll with Plumlee for the rest of the year since they just signed him to a 3 year deal and he is playing well. But if Plum gets injured then Stewart could be a league winner. I think KPJ has a clear path to minutes the only issue is waiting for the call up.

Also to be clear I am only picking him up because I am in a weekly league and him sitting on my bench doesn't hurt me, if you are in a daily H2H league then it is probably not the time quite yet

Hmm interesting. When you say clear path to minutes, how many mins do you mean? I really haven't thought of KPJ as a stash yet.

This man is looking around at his teammates wondering if he ever left the G-League.

"When you add the math"   I think you meant "When you add the meth" after looking at this trade.

Damn that’s a great trade for your opponent.   Fantasy theft is not a joke, Jim!

It's a weekly league, it's all about upside with your bench and KPJ has more upside than anybody on the wire on my league imo.

I like the logic which is why im trying to figure out if its worth the early scoop to see what happens. I'll just monitor the situation but if oladipo/gordon have anything permanent ill jump on this

KPJ is an interesting guy... the only young player they have is Mason Jones I think? Wood, their Franchise player is 25 and then Wall is 30, the only 2 major pieces on a multi year. A huge multi year contract in Eric Gordon they could try to get rid of pre trade deadline. And then it's all this middle age 1 year contracts which are replaceable players.

Won't hurt HOU to see if this cheap rookie contract is worth anything so they can plan for the future.

Houstons next 5 games are : Philly, Dallas, Indiana, Chicago, Cleveland (Dallas and Indiana are b2b) They can go anywhere from 0-5 to 2-3 during this stretch. I think the wheels fall of this team real fast probably worth keeping an eye on someone like him who could very easily get called up with the expectation of being a boost..

Your league doesn't have to be too deep to be excited and curious about this kid.  I've already noted the likelihood of him likely not being fantasy relevant this season BUT he's a player to have on your radar regardless of league size given how crafty, talented and explosive he is.  Kevin Love was recently interviewed and said he was the most talented guy on their roster  - even went so far as to say he reminded him of a left-handed Westbrook.  These are all variables to consider (including the looming, negative, hindering ones).  But I'd be watching him like a hawk if I was in a 14-team league, and this is coming from someone who is watching him like a hawk in a 12-team league : ]

Interesting. I knew he was a guy who was explosive as hell but I didn't think he'd be someone that highly regarded in terms of talent. Guess I'll be monitoring this even more closely as well.

Umm...seems they will trade Oladipo before deadline

I think we need to temper our expectations. Just because they're calling him up from the g-league doesn't mean Oladipo will get traded or that KPJ will even get any meaningful minutes. He might, but there are a lot of mouths to feed in Houston that play the same position as him. Right now, he's a speculative add for deep leagues but for 10-12Ts I'd just wait and see.

If I’m the cheap owner of the Rockets with Oladipo and Wall chucking up shots and them trying to give quality minutes to Nwaba and Tate, Wood coming back, they still have House Jr and Mclemore. Lots of people who wants shots.

Why wouldn't they trade Oladipo? He's on an expiring contract and they don't want to resign him. I think it's over 90% likely that oladipo gets traded to a contender

Yeah bro they are 99% chance trading Oladipo now. I thought before they will try to make a mini run for playoffs but then Wood got injured, Cousins is gone, and Oladipo is flat out terrible in Houston. I mean the showcase is destroying his trade value, and I am not even trolling. I think the many weapons in the Pacers help hide Oladipo's weaknesses and Houston got screwed in the trade.

There is no way they are not trading Oladipo. Also the way that KPJ is being talked about, feels like they want to make sure he can take over PG for Wall before they trade Wall too.

I don’t know about PG.  I thought he’s more of a wing. SG/SF

That’s a lot of movement. So you expect within the next two weeks:

Oladipo gone

Wall Gone

Cousins already been waived.

Tucker to be moved

Gordon to be moved.

Wall is going nowhere. Neither is Gordon because I can't see anyone taking on that contract.

Who is taking on Wall's contract? He's not going anywhere.
