Jeff Green 2020-2021 Outlook

Recommended Posts

Seems like he's been benefitting from the Harden trade, minutes-wise. 30+ minutes since then, and just played a monstrous 45 minutes with a tasty 16/7/2/1/1 line with 4 3pt made. 3 positional eligibility. Less than 10% owned in Yahoo (but I'm sure that will change VERY soon). Signs of a great wire pickup ROS, or fool's gold?

I'll pass. Ranked 142 in 9cat over the past 2 weeks even with 30+ minutes.

Being the 4th option on offense with 3 ball-dominant players means there's bound to be games where he disappears.

I had dead weight at the end of my bench so I picked him up. There is no one else on the Nets bench that can produce so they are rolling with Green.

Agreed. You have to understand that in a double OT game he got 45 minutes. The next best person is Perry who got a whopping 10 minutes in a double OT game. DJ only got 24 minutes and the death lineup seems to be: Kyrie/Harden/Harris/Durant/Jeff Green.

That is their small ball death lineup. Jeff Green has got 30 minutes since the trade. Until the nets get a capable backup C for DJ, I don't expect DJ to play 35 minutes, Perry looks really raw so they have no choice but to play Durant and Green and the 4 and the 5.

Also by all means I'm not saying run out and buy up all Jeff Green stock. But remember D'antoni is the assistant coach, Green played for D'antoni last season, D'antoni played PJ Tucker at the 5 with great success along with Covington at the 4, so I am assuming he is influencing Nash to use small ball lineups with Green and Durant since DJ can't stretch the floor and shoot 3's. With the dribble brothers, there will be many drive & kick outs to either Harris or Green for 3.

Yeah he'll provide some value, I mentioned in the trade thread Jeff Green would benefit most from the trade. Look at these game logs from last season when he was in Houston to see how D'Antoni used him, especially against OKC.

Since the Allen/Prince/LeVert trade (opened up about 80 min split mostly between DJ, Green, Harden), Green as averaged 30+ minutes. Green also has past playing history/chemistry with KD (OKC) and Harden (OKC,HOU).

3 without D specialist - 2+ 3s, 12-13 points, 5+ boards, efficiency from open shots, low TOs/stocks.

So PTS, FG%, FT is all you're getting right??? No REB AST STL BLK

You're also getting 3s. And a handful of boards. 4-5 RPG ain't bad. And hopefully consistency... at least until Brooklyn adds another center... who knows?

I’m hopeful Nets don’t add another center. They should be able to hang around until Claxton comes back.

Typical FA of the week numbers I guess. The real upside is when one of the big 3 sit out for rest and Green gets the random 25 point night.

He had some pretty pedestrian lines in the 4 previous games KD missed this year. But those were all with J. Allen on the roster of course. Still though, I'm kind of nervous starting Green tonight given it's a full slate of games.

Jeff Green's lines in games KD's missed:

  • Dec 28: 2 threes, 8 PTS, 1 REB, 1 AST, 1 STL, 1 BLK on 3/6 FG in 23 mins
  • Jan 5: 0 threes, 2 PTS, 5 REB, 0 AST, 0 STL, 0 BLK on 1/3 FG in 19 mins 🤢🤢🤢
  • Jan 7: 2 threes, 14 PTS, 1 REB, 1 AST, 1 STL, 1 BLK on 4/7 FG in 28 mins
  • Jan 8: 3 threes, 9 PTS, 9 REB, 4 AST, 1 STL, 0 BLK on 3/5 FG in 34 mins

What are you guys thinking? Am I overthinking this?

Not an OKC fan but it’s a lol nostalgic to see KD harden and Jeff green playing together.

If resting KD or Irving is gonna be a recurring thing, go grab Jeff green in your deep league.

Green was top 84 in category league last week. DG is too washed and they need a stretching 5, not a big man to block irving and harden driving to basket

Durant out so Jeff Green manages to get even less minutes and less rebounds. Remind me why this guy is so good again. That was a disgusting effort by Brooklyn. Can anyone on that team rebound????

He’s not good, that’s just it.

Gets crazy minutes is all. And puts up pedestrian lines. Not to mention a low stock guy for his position

The best thing he has going for him is his SF,PF, C eligibility on Yahoo

End of bench player for 12-14 + leagues

Slow and steady contributor, mid floor - low ceiling .

With an occasional blow up game.

Now this is something that is very wrong nowadays on fantasy sites. They all have given players CRAZY amount of positions. To the degree that positions dont even matter anymore. Its just stupid. Everyone has 2 or 3 positions. How does this benefit the tactical side of game when you dont have to think about this stuff at all? Why dont they nullify the positions after season is completed and start from 1 or at most 2 positions for some odd players.

It’s a catch 22. I’m glad Jeff Green has his SF/PF/C still since he played 96% of his minutes last season at C with Houston and this year he was at 4% but it looks like it will trend up with the Jarrett Allen departure.

Where as I’m still waiting for PJ Washington to get his C eligibility and he has played 58% of his minutes at the C position.
