Lmao please. It's more like it was kind of obvious that the dude is a ******** sexual predator with the amount of accusations and similar stories from victims that don't know each other. The

No sir, your inability to relate to the possibility of how these masseuses may have felt when being approached by Watson is frightening.   this is a guy with money, power, and fame in a room

I tell both my kids that many people find it hard to say no, especially when they feel they are powerless. I tell my kids to be careful when in a position of power, whether it be rich vs poor, man vs

Hard to remember the last time such a series of catastrophic decision making unfolded like this, and again, this is without any reference to his actual guilt in these cases. Guy just torpedoed his whole life for what? That ego must really be out of control.

I heard a lot of people say this about Tyreek, too.

Tyreek was an isolated case. Not a pattern of less than savory indecent acts that could end up being criminal.

One victim vs a number of victims.

Tyreek fell in the draft over a previous domestic violence case (where he pled guilty), he was most definitely not an isolated case. What an unfortunate story this has turned out to be, regardless of the outcome.

Criminal charges based solely on he said/she said seem like they would be a challenge to come by, especially in such a publicized case like this. Would you want to be the prosecutor filing charges with no tangible evidence with the entire country watching?

With all the claimed spontaneous ajackilation should be able to come up with some DNA somewhere.

Right like Big Ben and he is in the NFL making millions of dollars so that's my point. If he doesn't go to jail he is going to play in the NFL.

Do you have proof that proves anything Roethlisberger related?

To be clear, I'm sure Roethlisberger probably did things he should have been punished for. The problem I have is that so often people make definitive statements without actually knowing what they're talking about. You or I don't know the details surrounding Roethlisberger. Or the ones surrounding Watson. The ones with Watson are still developing so jumping to conclusions about Watson makes little sense to me.

Apparently your definition of proof is a person going to jail.

Boy do you have a lot of faith in our horrible legal system...

Um, what? You couldn't be further off with your "apparently" assumptions. Never, anywhere did I say proof is a person going to jail. So I ask, where did you come up with that, and what made you feel strongly enough about it to attach "apparently" in front of it as if it were something I said?

2nd. Not even close. I literally have zero faith in our horrendous legal system. Along with that, I have little faith in a majority of people tbh. I actually think people will believe whatever people tell them and it doesn't matter if it's true or not. If it's a headline, it can be passed along as fact without anyone ever questioning it. Call me cynical lol.

The fact that you came to such incorrect assumptions and attached "apparently" in front of them honestly helps prove my point . You made an assumption based on nothing really and ran with it assuming it was true. It's kind of like how many are seeing a headline with no evidence and coming to conclusions about DeShaun Watson. Headline without evidence = welp, APPARENTLY Watson is a monster, right?

What is the best case scenario for Watson in this? Settling all the cases and being on the exempt list for the entire season?

I'd say he loses a ton of money and is suspended for 6 games, matching the Big Ben suspension when he was accused of sexual assault. But I think the chances of that best case scenario is <  1%.

I still don't think he is out for the season without criminal charges.

Not headline without evidence. It’s the near 20 allegations all filed and all of which have been read. While I believe some of these are BS I also don’t believe all are BS.

Eh I mean technically that’s not the best case scenario. Big Ben got accused of actual rape twice and the sentence was 4 games. I know it’s a different time and all but I’m not so sure the NFL suspends him for an entire season if nothing sticks. It’s almost impossible to say what they’ll do because Goodell does whatever he feels like for each case. He can get suspended 0-16+ games and none of it would shock me.

This is all assuming the legal system doesn’t deal with it of course.

That is exactly what I mean by  headline reading without evidence. They are allegations. Not proof.  People see the headline without diving further and seeing there is no proof or evidence yet and they jump to conclusions. In our society it's guilty until....that's it really. Even if Watson comes out as innocent, his image is destroyed. Jokes will be made of him being a monster for the rest of his career and many won't change their opinion on him that was formed immediately when they read the headline of allegations.

and it is 100% HIS OWN FAULT. it didn't have to play out like this at all but he thought he was invincible or something. obviously not the championship caliber level of strategic thought you want in a franchise QB

hey guys, I really don't like my current team and I would like to be traded. I'll be pretty hush hush and not say much, hopefully they'll deal me away

WAIT

let me put some random masseuse on blast on social media because they are trying to extort money from me, this will surely go well. it's not like I have a team of legal professionals that could handle this privately or anything. I love social media!!!

wait? what's that? 20 cases now?

Huh? I never said it wasn't his fault that he's in this situation. Ah nevermind. You (and others) are very much missing my point here. Maybe that's my fault for not explaining what I'm trying to say better, oh well. Let's just move on. We'll just go with what you guys seem to be claiming (in your disagreement with me) which is that everyone does their due diligence with research, no one is a headline reader, and people always admit they're wrong when information comes out that proves their opinion to be wrong.

EDIT: And to elaborate on who's at fault here. Yes, It's 100% Watson's fault that he is in the situation he's in. He should take better caution, etc. No argument here. I think we are talking about a monster serial rapist or just a creepy guy who sees massage escorts. In my opinion, many have already labeled him as the former. Yes, it's his fault that he's in the situation, but it's also society's fault that people are idiots when it comes to forming an educated opinion.

your point is that he could be innocent, my point is that it doesn't really matter now with the way he has played this

No. My point is that society is filled with headline readers who form their opinions on topics BEFORE ever actually doing any research. Many have labeled Watson a monster already and what's that even based on? Is there evidence that proves he's a monster? All that can really be proven/established right now is that he's an idiot.

It's already clear that he uses Instagram masseuses for nefarious purposes.  If he wanted a real massage, he would have just used team resources.  His camp has already argued that any sexual activities were consensual, so at best he's already a creepy pervert.

Whether or not he has committed any sexual crimes is the question - innocent here until proven guilty.

Best case = creepy pervert with butthole fetish

Worst case = serial rapist that will get it in the butt

I agree with most of what you said but I disagree with the innocent here until proven guilty. I agree with the premise but my entire point has been that most people do NOT operate under that philosophy. Most people read a headline, come to a conclusion and move on without ever researching it or seeing if there's actually evidence to support the conclusion they came to. Then if said evidence does in fact come out that refutes their conclusion, they typically refuse to go back on their conclusion. It happens far too often in society from politics to big stories such as this one.

EDIT: Anyhow, I feel like I keep trying to get the same point across and I'm surprised that so many disagree with it. Really it stems from my having literally zero faith in our society when it comes to fact checking and being educated with a topic before having a vocal opinion about it.

To sum up, Watson is an idiot, but I refuse to label him as someone taking advantage of women or a serial predator or a monster or whatever other terms he has been labeled with recently without any evidence to support. The only things I can get behind (because facts support it) is that he's an idiot.

Seems like you’re making assumptions about ‘most people’ and you’ve labeled yourself smartest person in the room.
