Going off his chart, it was an interesting performance and if he's hurting it did not show: FA sat 95 MPH and hit 97!--almost 2 full ticks up from what he had been averaging this year. All sorts

What? He threw 147.2 IP in 2017 across 3 minor league levels, 133.1 IP in AA in 2018 and 171.1 IP in 2019 between AAA and MLB. Obviously 2020 was shortened but he didn’t miss a start. Likely head

Encouraging...for who exactly? Dr. James Andrews?

It really doesn't matter much if it is a minor sprain or not, the UCL has a tear.

The only sensible resolution is to not mess around and get the damn zipper. Sucks though.

I've never seen news like this not result in tjs. More and more evidence piling up pointing to the fact that this guy is made for the bullpen. Has never gone more than ~70IP in a season. Already escaped major injury once this year and now this. Very unfortunate.

Likely headed for TJ now but this is really the first year he’s had injury problems as a pro. He’ll have a spot saved for him in the Arizona rotation whenever he returns, even if it’s 2023.

He's got like five above average pitches. He's the quintessential starting pitcher. Also, he threw a 147 IP in 2017, 133 IP in 2018 and 171 IP in 2019.

Tanaka threw with a slight UCL tear for like 5 years. Griffin Canning was diagnosed with "chronic changes to the UCL" last spring and is somehow still pitching. So it's possible. I'm not holding my breath though.

Hoping for some news this week. Good or bad just give me some news.

He started tossing the baseball around this past weekend, that is all I have heard.

You're right.  I'd think a bullpen session  sounds encouraging at the least, although I won't hold my breath.  Why on earth would they not do another  mri though??

No news is good news 🤣

Completely agree.  Its amazing how the words "team of specialists" have ruined my day so many times this year.
