He didn't get a hit against Darvish and Snell, relax

Agreed...It 's going to get much worse when he faces the Dodgers pitching

In Coors next week, then the dregs of the Reds pitching staff. Big week next week.  Nick Ahmed is still hurt, so Rojas should be the Ss for a bit. Hopefully he does enough to keep getting playing time.

Exactly, but that's not the popular thing to do here.  Even if a guy like Rojas has a great spring, he turns to trash after 2 games.

Career triple slash line of .197/.284/.260 Im surprised this guy has a thread unless Im missing something.

.277/.370/.496 career MiLB stats...71 SB... so quick to judge someone after only 200 major league at bats.

He's an older, forgettable prospect, so the odds are against him being good. He should have a short leash on peoples benches.

and Kevin Newman hit .600 in ST

Newman was actually good in 2019. Still waiting for Rojas to actually be an average hitter but you know small sample size...

It's been less than a week and it's not like he is striking out a ton (5:2 K/BB ratio). Also has a .083 BABIP. Not everyone is gonna hits the ground running and many guys (e.g. Tyler O'Neill, Hiura) are looking far worse. There's still reason to believe he can be valuable.

I'm scared.

Plus when Ketel is back, he may be moved to 2B to protect his hamstring.

I've been a fan of Rojas going all the way back to pre pandemic days but he has to hit right away and then mabye somehow get into the OF rotation when Marte and Calhoun are back.  Seems like a longshot.

But maybe he can get established while Marte is out...
