2021 MiLB call up watch thread

Message added by tonycpsu,

This thread is for discussion of confirmed and/or imminent call-ups.  If you've seen news that someone has been called up, or informed speculation from reputable sources that someone may be on their way to the show soon, feel free to share these items with the community here.  Do not ask "who's going to be called up next?" -- that's what the thread is for, so asking is superfluous.  Also, do not use this thread for deep dives into specific minor league players -- that's what their MiLB outlook threads are for.

Yankees recalled RHP Luis Gil from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre

Gil is ranked as the Yankees number six prospect on MLB Pipeline. The right-hander comes equipped with a four-seam fastball, that can touch triple-digits with the significant ride, a mid-80s slider, and a sinking changeup. The 23-year-old pitched well at Double-A this season, posting a 2.72 ERA over 96 innings with 123 strikeouts, but struggled upon his promotion to Triple-A carrying a 1.34 WHIP with an 88/36 K/BB over 61 frames. New York is in need of a starter after Domingo German (shoulder) and Gerrit Cole (COVID) were placed on the injured list.

Josh Lowe coming up per Jeff Passan:
Outfielder Josh Lowe, one of the best prospects in the Tampa Bay Rays’ system, is headed to the big leagues, sources tell ESPN. Lowe, 23, is a left-handed hitter slashing .282/.369/.540 with 21 HR and is 24 for 24 on steals at Triple-A. Best team in the AL keeps getting better.
Josh Lowe may not be up for long. The Rays’ outfield is already very good and deep. But he’s certainly a big part of their future and joins Wander Franco, Shane McClanahan and Taylor Walls among those who have graduated from Tampa Bay’s player-development machine this season.
