"Why don't you come over here and say that?!"

I hate closers - I feel like a dog chasing my tail in a circle. 😡

I’ve been watching the Tigers game. Clase was the only one warming up a few days ago when it looked like the Indians might tie or take the lead. Today, Karinchak was the only guy warming up in th

Is Trevor rothensal done for the year?

5 seconds on google or twitter would show you it's a 10 day IL for shoulder fatigue, no MRI being done.

I’m not sure how much this contributes to the SD discussion but I just read that melancon has over 200 career saves. Crazy, his career seemed way more up and down for that.

With the ridiculous new rules this is almost assured.

9 innings still take 3+ hours. How they think cutting down extra innings will help draw in uninterested fans who think the game is boring is mind boggling.

They aren’t cutting down extra innings for the fans it’s so games don’t run long for TV. So networks can better schedule the rest of the programming around the games

No they are doing it to cut down on the use of tons of relievers while there is still training sites / covid protocols in place.  Next year they won't do it or at least modify it so it doesn't start until a few innings into extra inning games.  Covid-willing that is.

Not surprising. He had those two years in which he had almost 100 saves.

So MLB are instituting rules so tv networks can plan their shows easier around the games?

When those networks pay them 100s of millions of dollars the short answer is yes

Those that were wondering about Wade Davis’ velocity yesterday:

Also, note it came with great command. Also, to be fair it was just one outing and against two batters, but I’m all in.

That Doolittle bump is rather interesting. Reds closer position is wide open, despite Amir's open desire to run with the job.

Yeah, it looks like he got 6 swings and misses against the heart of the Cards lineup. It shouldn’t surprise anyone if he gets a save opportunity soon.

His Velo was up during the spring a notable amount, but because his performance was bad, people were ignoring it and dismissing him as viable option this year.

Tanner Scott looks to be entering the game in the 8th for the O’s, currently up 2-0. Valdez was warming up with him in the 7th, but Scott is alone in the pen as of now.

Not overly impressed with Valdez, but he got the save. A lot of offspeed stuff...not overpowering at all. Got the job done, though.

That’s his game
