Really? so would you consider it "Useless anecdotal analysis?"

you're misreading julio's implication: if he's going to be stuck playing with elderly veterans staring down retirement, julio wants to have fun.

cam's old arm may be noodling, but he's more fun than ryan and currently has no one to play with new england, or party with.

A crappy QB is more fun than a good one? We'll agree to disagree there. Newton blows, obviously; he's done. Ryan is still playing at a high level.

Party wise may be another story but I doubt (I hope) that's not uppermost in Jones' mind.

Of course. Sharpe also wouldn’t ruin his reputation with players for a stunt like that.

Yeah, cuz Sharpe has such a great reputation.

How are the Colts not a player here? Don't they still have enough cap space and the need? If (granted a big if) Wentz stays healthy and performs, Jones could help them make a really legit run.

It would take some cap maneuvering, but why not KC?

They have the targets for the taking and about 8MM in cap space...

Be fun AF.

Yes please

Unfortunately think other teams are more desperate than us but it's at least worth a call

I have hopes for our 5th round pick Cornell Powell but WR is still a major need

@bomont..Anything is possible but the Colts are trying to extend Leonard and Nelson in the very near future. I'm unsure if/how that would effect them this yr though .

@mocha4313 .. The first thing I though when he said "I want to win" was KC as I presumed he meant he wants to win a SB.

The Colts have consistently built through the draft by not giving away picks for aging vets. I think Julio could certainly help them, but it goes against their recent history.

Ryan was garbage without Julio last year (despite still having Ridley). Newton’s receiving “weapons” last year were laughable.

Ok? That's not even the argument though. The argument is playing with Matt Ryan or playing with Cam Newton. If he's playing with Matt Ryan, what does Matt Ryan's performance without Julio have to do with anything?

Matt Ryan played in (6) games without Julio last year. Did he play as well as he would have had he had Julio to throw to? Of course not. But garbage? Garbage is what Cam Newton has done for years now (especially last year). I'm willing to guess you didn't even look at the numbers and were just spitting nonsense without knowing the facts:

6 games

comp-attempts: 133-235

yds: 1609

9td/2 int

average per game: 22-39, 268 yds, 1.5 td, .3 int. Yeah, what garbage.

If Julio goes to NE the chance of him being a WR1 in fantasy is exactly 0 if Cam is the QB.

Well yeah. With Cam under center, the Patriots already have a WR1....It's the turf... (ba dum bum psh!)

  • ESPN's Dianna Russini reports there's a "sense" around the league that Julio Jones could be traded "as early as next week."

The Falcons have unsurprisingly discussed "several trade offers" for Jones thus far, including an offer for a future first-round pick from an undisclosed team. Atlanta has always been in the market for a first-rounder in return for the 32-year-old, so the hold-up could be to allow other teams to come over the top before agreeing to any deal. Russini adds that the Titans are also a "long shot" to add Jones despite A.J. Brown's social media campaign. The Patriots, Colts, Raiders, and 49ers remain the teams to bet on to land his services in the very near future.

AJ Brown said he will let Julio carry the load if that’s what he wants to do 👀

this would be amazing. Julio could put the Titans offense over the top. Defense still suspect though

Obviously it’ll be great for the team and offense but man it’ll kill Browns value and Julios as well.

The Titans aren’t built to sustain two WR1s. There isn’t the luxury of a 4500+ yard QB.

On the other hand, the Titans have attempted to replace over 200 vacated targets with Josh Reynolds and.... nope that's it. Other than some lotto ticket rookies, they didn't bring in any other pass catchers. If you were to rank teams by how badly they need Jones, it would be the Titans, a hundred mile gap, and then everyone else.

I think the fantasy community in general may be underestimating the “motivation factor” with regards to a Julio trade. I’m hearing a lot of talk about how his value can only go down, or sideways at best, depending on the trade landing spot. I’m not sure I agree with that assessment.

Julio says he “wants to win”. This tells us he’s not planning on simply going through the motions on a new team in 2021. It appears as though Julio will have at least some say in which team his traded to, and it only makes sense that he’ll give everything he’s got to help his new team win. This could mean fewer “nagging injuries”, fewer missed practices, and fewer decoy games. He wants to show his new team he was worth the trade, and show everyone he’s still one of the best on his way to winning a Super Bowl.

Julio proved just last season that he can still dominate when on the field, and I think that’s what he intends to do for a new team in 2021. Whether it’s the 49ers, Chargers, Chiefs, Bills, Titans, Ravens, or some other contender, I think they are going to get a highly motivated, rejuvenated Julio Jones, and his new team will be equally motivated to get a big return on their pricey investment.

I believe Julio Jones is currently being undervalued and those who acquire him will be glad they did.

Bills with Diggs, Jones, Manny and Beasley would be sexy. If Jones and Sanders can coordinate their injuries so one is always playing, unstoppable.

Jones did suffer an injury playing NFL football last year. Unthinkable, I know.

Prior to that, he played over half a decade in the league without a single significant injury. Seems like Jones has been one of the most durable guys in the league. The injury prone narrative is wildly overused in the fantasy community, but slapping that label on Jones is straight up delusional.

I think you took my tongue in cheek comment a bit too seriously.
