Every fifth day, my ROI on trading Bieber for Yelich continues to plummet.

Put Kyle in the Old Yeller thread

This Rockies team stinks. No longer have to bench most starters at Coors Field.

He should retire with bruce. Why do the yanks even have him?

They have him So they can bat him 3rd everyday where your best hitter hits.

He's been mixing in a cutter this year, hasn't he?  I think four-seamer, cutter, changeup, curve is plenty deep of an arsenal with how strong his secondaries are.

He's only used the cutter 6.3% of the time. The two seamer was much more involved in his pitch mix and was key to his backwards ks

Boone has to go. I don't even root for the yanks, but he's gotta go!

I've never had a good handle on his FA / SI split.  Different sources for pitch type data seem to disagree, and McCarthy said on the broadcast earlier that Nola only throws the SI 5 or 6 times a game.  Even if he were mostly a 3-pitch guy with just a show-me sinker or cutter, I think the combination of the movement on the four-seamer and the strength of the secondaries that he can throw in almost any count makes me reluctant to sell.  It's encouraging to me that he's recognizing the pitch isn't working and is trying other things.

He got out of it but 2 BB and a single.

Yeah I saw that. He was lucky he didn't allow any runs.

Also, Votto is looking good again. I think the Old Yeller thread woke him up. We need another thread called Zombinos, of older players that maybe are not quite finished.

I criticized his new approach and now he is walking, hitting, getting dongs.

Just a word to the wise. If Nola looks good today, I'd be looking to sell. He's had to scrap his 2 seamer due to not having any feel for it. Without that pitch he's going to be in trouble.

Yea, really struggling today without that 2 seam fastball..

i remember being on this board when the jay bruce 1st month rookie hype was insane

good times 😢

there were comparisons to Larry Walker. Had a pretty good career even if he didn't live up to people's expectations
